Fireplaces can bring you great comfort and joy when properly used. Before your first fire of the year, call Covenant Chimney Service (Nashville Chimney) to have your fireplace inspected by our trained chimney professionals. The NCSG (National Chimney Sweep Guild) recommends that you have your fireplace inspected annually by a trained chimney professional.
In 2005, there were 24,500 residential fires in the United States originating in chimneys, fireplaces and solid fuel appliances, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. These fires resulted in 20 deaths and $126.1 million in property damage.
Many of these fires could have been prevented if only the homeowners were informed by a chimney professional about the condition and hazards of their chimney.
Covenant Chimney Service (Nashville Chimney) has 3 types of chimney inspections. A Level 1 Safety Inspection, a Level 2 Safety Inspection and a Level 3 Safety Inspection. A Level 1 Safety Inspection is most common and usually all that is needed.
An inspection of the system that does not require the removal of anything, usually a chimney cap on some occasions. This is the most common safety inspection because most of the time we can see everything we need to see without disconnecting any thing. Does not always require a roof top inspection.
Level 1 Safety Inspection starts at $149.00
Includes all services of a Level 1 Safety Inspection, plus the examination of accessible portions of the chimney interior and exterior, including crawl spaces and basements. Does not require the removal or destruction of permanently attached areas of the chimney or building structure.
Level 2 Safety Inspection starts at $189.00
Performed after a Level 1 or Level 2 inspection has indicated hazards in the concealed areas of the chimney or flue. Involves the removal of portions of the chimney or building structure as necessary. This will require special tools.
